  • among主要用于三者或三者以上，其宾语通常是表示笼统数量或具有复数意义的名词或代词。
  • among有时相当于one of， 即“…当中的一个”。among还可引出形容词最高级的比较范围，但须注意最高级形式出现在among之前或之后意义有所不同。
  • among的用法比amongsta普遍。元音前，多用amongst（很少在美国使用）， 如amongst us；
  • among与between的比较：among用在三个或三个以上的人或物前，between是用在两者之间, 与and搭配，如between he and me，但不与among搭配，不能说among A， B and C。表示在某些物体的两边之间时，不管物体的数量多少，用between。divide或share一些东西的时候，单数名词用divide between和share between，而复数名词用between或among都可。There is a little valley between high mountains.He divided his money between his wife, his daughter and his sister.
