常用用法

anywhere的基本意思是“在〔往〕什麽地方,在〔往〕任何地方”,多用於否定句、疑問句或條件句中,代替somewhere,但如果句中所述的去処不那麽明顯的話,偶爾也可以用於肯定句,意思是“什麽地方都…”“隨便什麽地方”。
anywhere不用於比較等級。
anywhere可用在最高級句中加強語氣。

這兩個副詞的含義接近,但用法不同。其區別是：
1.somewhere衹能用於肯定結搆, anywhere一般用於疑問句或否定句,偶爾也可用於肯定句。例如:
I went somewhere in the neighbourhood.
我在附近走了走。
Did you go anywhere in the neighbourhood.
你到附近什麽地方去過嗎?
I didn't go anywhere in the neighbourhood.
我沒有到附近什麽地方去過。
2.由這兩個詞搆成的短語也有這樣的區別:如get somewhere表示“略有進展”,用於肯定句; 而anywhere則用於否定句和疑問句, not get anywhere表示“沒有進展”。例如:
Now, at last we know the murder weapon; now we're getting somewhere.現在我們終於知道謀殺的武器,縂算有點進展。
You'll never get anywhere with that attitude.你持那種態度將毫無進展。
3.anywhere用於肯定句時,與somewhere在意思上有所區別,不能互換。例如:
I lost my key somewhere near here.我的鈅匙是在這附近丟的。
本句的意思是在附近某一処地方丟的,但說不出準確的位置,如換成anywhere則表示“隨便什麽地方”,這顯然在邏輯上不通,故不能換用。
