- sign的基本意思是“標記,符號”,指寫在或刻畫在物躰上的,代表具有固定意義的一種簡明的符號或標志,使人一看便知道它所代表的意義。sign引申可作“手勢,姿勢”“信號”“征兆,跡象”解。
- sign後常接of短語作定語,有時還可接動詞不定式或that從句作定語。
- sign用作名詞時有“記號”的意思,轉化爲動詞可作“簽名”解,一般指人在文件、信件上簽署自己的名字; sign作名詞還可作“手勢”解,轉化爲動詞則是“做手勢”的意思,指由於某種原因不能用語言表達或不想用口頭方式交流的情況下用手勢來表達某種意圖。
